As we prepare our hearts for a season of gratitude, we are invited to pause and reflect on the many blessings we have. While Thanksgiving is typically thought of as a national holiday, the idea of giving thanks is a central part of daily Catholic life. As Catholics, Thanksgiving provides the opportunity to reflect on God’s goodness and generosity in our lives. As a Church family, we celebrate a thanksgiving meal each Sunday within the context of the Mass which is first and foremost a prayer of thanksgiving. In fact, the word Eucharist comes from the Greek for “thanksgiving.”
We invite you to join us for our Thanksgiving Day Mass on Thursday, Nov. 27 at 9 a.m. A collection will be taken at Thanksgiving Day Mass for our St. Vincent de Paul Society chapter (SVDP). SVDP serves neighbors in need throughout our local community by offering emergency assistance, home visits, and practical support to help families through challenging times.
