Confirmation at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Community

Confirmation is a Sacrament reflecting mature Christian commitment in which we deepen our baptismal gifts. It is during this Sacrament that Catholics receive the Holy Spirit and become full, adult members of the Church.

St. Anthony of Padua prepares children to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation during the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Throughout this period, students from St. Anthony of Padua School and students from the church’s Religious Education Program participate in several preparation sessions and community outreach opportunities with their Confirmation sponsor. Following the completion of these sessions and service opportunities, the children make their Confirmation with the Bishop of the Diocese of Grand Rapids.

The celebration date of the Sacrament of Confirmation is determined by the Bishop but is typically in October at the Cathedral of St. Andrew.
