Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a sacred season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare our hearts for Easter. During Mass, we receive ashes on our foreheads as a sign of repentance and a reminder of our call to turn away from sin and follow the Gospel.
While this is not a holy day of obligation, Ash Wednesday is a wonderful opportunity to begin Lent with intention, to acknowledge our need for God’s mercy, and to recommit to growing in faith.
Mass times at St. Anthony:
Wednesday, March 5
- Mass with Distribution of Ashes at 8:30 a.m.
- Mass with Distribution of Ashes at 7 p.m.
