Location: St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Community – Grand Rapids, MI
Employment Type: Part-Time (10–15 hours per week)
Schedule: Weekends required (all Masses) with limited weekday hours
Compensation: $18–$22/hour, commensurate with experience
Position Summary
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Community is seeking a part-time Weekend Experience Coordinator to oversee and enhance the parish’s weekend Mass experience. This position is responsible for ensuring that all weekend liturgies are well-coordinated, hospitable, and executed with excellence.
The coordinator provides leadership for volunteer ministry teams and serves as the primary point of contact during weekend Masses, ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and prayerful environment for all.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of weekend Masses across multiple liturgies
- Help recruit new volunteers, monitor weekend schedule, and support volunteer ministers (greeters, ushers, lectors, etc.)
- Ensure all ministry roles are filled and functioning effectively
- Serve as the on-site coordinator for all weekend Masses
- Lead brief pre-Mass team meetings to prepare volunteers
- Maintain a welcoming and hospitable environment for parishioners and visitors
- Address and resolve issues that arise during Mass
- Maintain communication with parish staff and provide a weekend summary
- Assist in evaluating and improving weekend processes and ministry effectiveness
Qualifications
- A practicing Catholic who aligns with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Church
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask and respond effectively in a dynamic environment
- Commitment to hospitality and parish life
- Previous experience in ministry, event coordination, or leadership preferred
- Basic proficiency with technology and scheduling tools
Working Conditions
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods during weekend Masses
- Requires flexibility and responsiveness during live events
- Must be available for all assigned weekend liturgies
