We are excited to announce Mrs. Emily Mills as our new music teacher at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School. An active music director and voice coach in the greater Grand Rapids area, Emily works with students of all ages exploring interpretation and storytelling through a vocal lens. Recent music directing credits include Disney’s Descendants The Musical, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience, Shrek Jr. and a Cabaret featuring the music of Pasek & Paul.
As a certified music educator, she has had the pleasure of working with K-12 students formerly in Illinois, California, and now Michigan from the general music classroom to choral settings, specializing in subjects from performance arts to keyboarding. Formerly the music director at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Comstock Park, Emily currently serves as director of administrative operations for West Michigan’s First Professional Choral Ensemble, Vox GR.
Her favorite days are spent outside with her kids Ezra & Elanor or cooking alongside her husband, Austin.
Mrs. Emily Mills steps into the role previously held by Mrs. Cindy Byerly, who faithfully served as our music teacher for the past 15 years. Through Shared Time services, Emily will also serve as music teacher for St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School.
