Safety Measures and Protocols
Safety is one of our highest priorities. Our administration team works closely with local law enforcement to ensure that we have created the safest learning environment possible for our students. Staff and students are regularly trained on how to handle emergencies, and several proactive measures have been put into place to ensure safety. We want everyone to feel safe and prepared for any emergency whether it be a fire, evacuation, or a student injury so we practice and prepare, but we do not anticipate.
- All visitors must check into the office before entering the school building. This includes parents and volunteers.
- There are 20 cameras on our school campus, which allow administration access to see interior and exterior areas of the campus.
- All areas of the building where students are present are locked during school and childcare hours.
- In partnership with Kent County, we have a two-way radio to alert police of an emergency with the push of a button.
- All classrooms are equipped with a Go Bag in the event of an emergency.
- Exterior doors that are not monitored have a contact alarm that buzzes if doors are left open to avoid propping doors and giving access to uninvited guests.
Communication
In the event of a weather-related closing, delayed opening, or other emergency event, St. Anthony will send important information to our school families via email and our text alert system.
We highly recommend adding the following to your contacts:
- Main Telephone Line: (616) 453-8229
- Urgent Text Alerts: 822-90
- Office Email Address: schooloffice@saparish.com
All new parents are automatically added to email and text lists at the start of the school year. Please check that your phone number and email are correctly entered in your Finalsite Enrollment paperwork to ensure you do not miss any emergency communications. In the case of an emergency, the safety of our students and staff is our first and highest priority. We will try to keep you informed through the media and text message of any emergency information.
